What is Nythy?

Nythy is a mobile application that connects consumers with local professionals offering discounted food products to fight food waste. Nythy also offers a community space to share, exchange and engage together. Our mission is to save food while allowing you to save money.

How does Nythy work?

It's simple! 1) Download the app and sign in with Google or Apple. 2) Browse anti-waste offers near you. 3) Reserve and pay online via Stripe. 4) Pick up your order at the professional with your pickup code. You just saved food!

Is the app free?

Yes, the Nythy app is completely free for consumers. You only pay for the products you reserve, at reduced prices of course!

In which cities is Nythy available?

Nythy is currently available in Bas-Rhin and its surroundings. For now, other French cities are coming soon. Stay connected to find out about upcoming launches!

What is the minimum age to use Nythy?

Using Nythy is reserved for people who are at least 16 years old. At account creation, you explicitly certify that you meet this condition; Nythy does not technically verify your age.

What is Nythy's environmental impact?

Each basket collected avoids food waste and reduces CO₂ emissions. The app sometimes displays the CO₂ impact saved from your reservations. Together we fight against waste!

Can I share offers with friends?

Yes, you can share an offer from its page via the Share button (link or text). There is no built-in referral system for offers between friends.

SECTION 02

My Account

How do I create an account?

Download Nythy on the App Professional or Google Play, then sign in with Google or Apple. Accept the Terms. Email/password sign-up is no longer offered: authentication is handled by your Google or Apple account.

I forgot my password, what should I do?

Standard user accounts do not have a Nythy password: sign-in is via Google or Apple. To recover access, use your Google or Apple account recovery tools. If you have issues with a legacy email/password account, contact [email protected].

How do I update my personal information?

Go to Profile > Account information > Personal information. You can update your name, email and profile photo.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile > Danger zone > Delete my account (30-day cooling-off period, cancellable). On the web: https://nythy.com/en/legal/delete-account if you no longer have app access. Data erasure: 30 days (GDPR). Contact: [email protected].

Why do I need to validate my email?

Your email address comes from your Google or Apple account when you sign in. Nythy does not send a separate verification email for Google or Apple sign-up. You can complete your profile in the app.

Is my account secure?

We use secure protocols (OAuth 2.0 via Google and Apple) to protect your data. You can enable biometric login (fingerprint, Face ID) in settings to lock the app.

Can I log in on multiple devices?

Yes, you can use your Nythy account on multiple phones. Your reservations and favorites are synced.

How do I change my password?

Standard users do not have a Nythy password: access is managed by Google or Apple. To change your credentials, go to your Google or Apple account settings.

How do I change my email address?

The displayed email comes from Google or Apple. To change it, update your account with that provider. You can also adjust some information in Profile > Account information > Personal information.

How do I manage my notifications?

Go to Profile > Preferences > Notifications. Enable or disable push and in-app alerts (orders, community, groups, etc.).

What data does Nythy collect?

We collect the information needed for the service: identity, email, location (for nearby offers), reservation history. See our privacy policy for details.

Can I export my personal data?

Yes, under GDPR. In Profile > Account information > Security > Download my data, you can export a copy of your data.

My account is blocked, what should I do?

If your account is blocked or suspended, contact [email protected] with your email address. We will review your situation.

Can I be blocked for abuse?

Yes. Nythy reserves the right to block or suspend an account in case of abuse, violation of terms of use, fraud or behavior harmful to the community. We act to protect all users and partner professionals.

SECTION 03

Orders

How do I reserve an offer?

Browse available offers near you, select the one that interests you, check the details (price, pickup times, products) then click 'Reserve'. You will receive a confirmation with all necessary information.

Can I choose the content of my offer?

Each offer displays the products or description offered. Check the details of each offer to see exactly what is included.

How do I cancel a reservation?

From the app, you can cancel a paid order without penalty up to 2 hours before the start of your pickup slot; the refund is automatic. After this deadline, contact the professional or [email protected]. If you cannot make it, notify as early as possible to free the basket.

Where can I see my order history?

Go to Profile > Order history. You'll find all your past and upcoming reservations there.

Is there a reservation limit?

You can reserve multiple offers simultaneously as long as the time slots don't overlap. Some professionals may limit the number of baskets per person for fairness.

Can I modify a reservation?

You cannot modify a reservation once confirmed. If you're unable to make it, cancel and reserve a new offer if available.

SECTION 04

Gifts between individuals

What is a gift between individuals?

Gifts between individuals let you offer your food surplus to other Nythy users for free. It's 100% free: no financial transaction. You avoid waste by giving your products a second life.

How do I create a gift?

From the community feed (+ button), create a gift: title, description, category, quantity, pickup address. Set the perishability (non-perishable / fresh / homemade); for a fresh product, the use-by date must be over 48 h away and the cold chain respected. Photo and tags optional.

How do I reserve a gift?

Browse gifts on the map or feed. Reserve, receive a pickup code and pickup address; collect for free during the indicated slot.

What are the gift rules?

Gifts are free — no financial transaction. You cannot reserve your own gift. Expired gifts are no longer offered to others. You are responsible for quality and freshness. Rule violations may lead to account suspension.

How long does a gift stay available?

A gift can be collected only during the daily 10am–7pm slot (Paris time); outside it, the gift stays visible but cannot be collected. The next day: non-perishables are reactivated automatically, fresh products require a new confirmation from the donor, and homemade products cannot be reactivated.

Where can I manage and edit my published gifts?

Go to Profile > Purchases > My published gifts. View, edit (while not reserved) or delete your gifts.

How do I report a received gift?

Once a gift has been picked up, you can report it from your received donations page (Profile > Purchases). Choose a reason — for example "expired or non-compliant product" — and add a description. Only the gift recipient can report it, after pickup. Our moderation team reviews every report; as the gift is no longer publicly visible, the measure mainly concerns the donor's account (warning or suspension if a breach is confirmed).

Payment

When and how do I pay?

Payment is made online when you reserve, via Stripe (methods shown at checkout). Nothing to pay at pickup: show your pickup code in the app.

How does online prepayment work?

When you reserve, you pay online securely via Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay depending on your device). This prepayment secures your basket and lets the professional prepare your order. At pickup, you simply show your confirmation code in the app — no extra payment is required in store.

Is the displayed price the final price?

Yes, the price displayed in the app is the total amount you pay online when you reserve. There are no additional fees or service charges.

What payment methods are accepted?

When reserving, you pay online via Stripe (payment methods offered depend on your device). No additional payment is required at pickup.

Can I get a receipt?

Tickets and receipts can be stored on your account. Check your order history to access them.

Can I get a refund?

If the professional cancels after payment, a refund is triggered automatically to your payment method (usual bank delay: a few days). For pickup issues (quality, error), contact the professional first, then [email protected].

Pickup

How do I pick up my order?

Go to the professional during the indicated slot. Show your pickup code in the app (or order number). The professional validates handover; you confirm pickup and can leave a review.

What if I'm late?

Notify the professional if you are late. The basket stays reserved in your name while the order is active. If you cannot come, cancel or contact the professional as early as possible.

Can I send someone else to pick up my order?

Yes, you can send someone in your place. Make sure to give them your reservation number or share the confirmation from the app.

Are pickup times flexible?

Times are set by the professional according to their activity. They generally correspond to when unsold items are available (end of service, closing). Respect these slots to make the professionals' work easier.

How do I find the professional's address?

The exact address and a map link are in your reservation confirmation. You can also open the professional's profile in the app for directions.

Can the professional cancel my reservation?

If stock runs out or the store closes unexpectedly, the professional may cancel. You receive a notification and, if already paid online, an automatic refund is initiated to your card.

What happens if I don't pick up my order?

If you do not show up without cancelling, the professional may report the absence to Nythy. Repeated no-shows may lead to manual account measures (warning or restriction), assessed case by case.

Quality & Safety

Are the products good quality?

The products offered are perfectly consumable. We ensure that products offered by professionals comply with applicable standards. These are the day's unsold items that would have been thrown away without buyers. Professionals remain responsible for the quality and food safety of their products.

What about expiration dates?

Products respect the best before dates. Some may have a close best before date, which is why they are offered at reduced prices. Consume them quickly or freeze them if possible.

What if I have a problem with my order?

First contact the professional directly. If the problem persists, you can report an issue via the app or contact us at [email protected]. We will handle your complaint.

How are partner professionals selected?

We work only with professional professionals respecting hygiene and food safety standards. Each partner is verified before being listed on the platform.

Are allergens indicated?

Professionals may indicate allergens for some products. If you have a severe allergy, contact the professional before reserving.

Are there frozen products?

It depends on the offers. Some professionals offer products to freeze. The offer description usually indicates the type of products (fresh, frozen, etc.).

Professionals

I'm a professional, how do I join Nythy?

Sign up at nythy.com (Pro Space). At signup: business email, password, professional name and Terms acceptance. Complete your profile in Settings (address, SIRET, legal name…). Activation requires email verification, Nythy review, then Stripe Connect onboarding (KYC) for online payments. Contact: [email protected].

How do I access my Pro Space?

Professionals can manage their space both via the Nythy mobile app and on the website (nythy.com). Sign in with your professional credentials to access your dashboard, offers, orders and donations to associations.

What types of businesses can join Nythy?

Bakeries, pastry shops, restaurants, caterers, supermarkets, grocery stores, greengrocers... All food businesses with unsold items can join us!

Are there fees for professionals?

No signup fee. After a possible trial period, a Nythy subscription (monthly or annual plan) and a per-sale online commission (fixed part + variable part) may apply. Current rates are available in your Pro Space (Settings → Subscription and offer pricing). The price shown to customers is yours.

Can I leave a review for a professional?

Yes! After picking up your order, you can rate with stars in the app. Your reviews help other users.

Can I contact a professional via the app messaging?

No, it's not possible. Messaging only allows individuals to create groups and chat privately with each other. For any question about an order, you can go directly to the professional or contact us at [email protected].

Associations

What is the Nythy association space?

The association space allows partner associations (charities, food banks, social restaurants...) to collect food donations from professionals, organize solidarity events and manage their anti-waste activity. Access is available via the mobile app and the website (nythy.com).

How do I access my association space?

Associations can manage their space both via the Nythy mobile app and on the website (nythy.com). Sign in with your association credentials to access your dashboard, donation reservations and event management.

How do I join Nythy as an association?

Go to nythy.com and create an association account (web signup only — the mobile app allows login, not signup). At signup: name, association type, email and password. Complete RNA/SIRET, address and logistics in Settings. Each account is manually verified before activation. [email protected]

How do associations reserve donations?

Associations browse professional donations, reserve a slot, then follow status: reserved → confirmed → ready → collected. A 6-character confirmation code is shown at pickup. Donations are free; respect slots and cancel early if needed.

Can associations organize events?

Yes! Associations can create solidarity events and recruit volunteers via the platform. The association is responsible for organizing and ensuring the safety of the event.

What types of events can be created?

Available types: food collection, distribution, outreach, community meal, workshop, awareness, fundraising, volunteer meeting, other.

How do I create and manage an event?

From your association space, create an event by entering the description, date and location. You can manage volunteer registrations, receive reminder notifications before the event and track participants (registrations, cancellations). Information must remain accurate and up to date.

What should I do if I cancel an event?

If you cancel, you must notify all registered participants. The association remains responsible for organization and safety. Events must comply with applicable legislation.

Application

On which devices can I use Nythy?

Nythy is available on iOS (iPhone) via the App Professional and on Android via Google Play. The app requires iOS 16+ or Android 7.0+.

The app isn't working, what should I do?

Try: 1) Check your internet connection. 2) Close and reopen the app. 3) Update the app. 4) Restart your phone. If the problem persists, contact us at [email protected].

My notifications aren't working

Check that notifications are enabled for Nythy in your phone settings. In the app, go to Profile > Preferences > Notifications to customize preferences.

Why does Nythy need my location?

Geolocation displays offers near you. You can limit access to location only when using the app, or disable it (offers won't be filtered by proximity).

Does the app work offline?

An internet connection is needed to browse offers, reserve and view your orders. Remember to open your reservation before arriving at the professional if the network is weak.

Should I update the app?

We recommend keeping Nythy up to date to benefit from the latest features and bug fixes. Updates are available on the App Professional and Google Play.

How do I save my favorite professionals?

Add a store to favorites via the heart icon. Find them in the Favorites tab. Alerts for favorite professionals depend on push notification settings (Profile > Preferences > Notifications).
